Agathi Keerai Palya

Ingredients

  • Agathi Keerai,  – 2bunches
  • Rice – 50gm
  • Red Chili – 5nos (adjust to your spice level)
  • Sugar – 50gm
  • Oil – 2tbsp
  • Mustard – 1tsp
  • Channa Dhal – 1tsp
  • Urad Dhal – 1tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1tsp
  • Salt – 1tsp (adjust to your taste)

Method

  • Dry roast rice, red chili until fragrant
  • Coarse grind it, keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Add mustard, allow it to splutter
  • Add channa dhal, urad dhall fry until golden brown
  • Add agathi keerai, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt, sprinkle little water, close cook for 5 min
  • Once cooked, add sugar, ground masala, mix well
  • Serve hot along with hot rice, sambar
