Chinna Vengaya Pulav

Ingredients

  • Small Onions, peeled – 200gm
  • Basmati Rice, soaked for 20min and drained – 2cups
  • Coconut Milk – 2cups
  • Garlic paste – 1tsp
  • Ginger paste – 1tsp
  • Green Chili, long slit – 4nos
  • Bay leaf – 1nos
  • Clove – 2nos
  • Green Cardamom – 2nos
  • Fennel seeds – ½tsp
  • Pepper – ½tsp
  • Butter – 50gm
  • Salt – 1tsp (adjust to your taste)
  • Fresh Coriander leaves – 1bunch

Method

  • Heat butter in a pan
  • Add onion sauté well until onions are translucent
  • Add ginger garlic paste – sauté well
  • Add green chili, bay leaf, clove, green cardamom, fennel seeds, pepper – fry well
  • Add rice and fry well until colour changes
  • Add coconut milk, salt – mix well
  • You may open cook or pressure cook
  • Garnish with coriander leaves
  • Serve hot
