Kathiyawadi Pyas

Ingredients

  • Baby Onions, peeled – 400gm
  • Roasted Peanuts – ¾cup
  • Garlic – 10cloves
  • Coriander powder – 2tbsp
  • Red Chili powder – 2tbsp
  • Cumin powder – 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½tsp
  • Coriander leaves, chopped – 4tbsp
  • Cooking oil – 4tbsp
  • Salt – 1tsp

Method

  • Slit into 4 parts keeping base intact
  • Coarsely grind roasted peanuts, garlic, coriander powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, salt
  • Add chopped coriander, mix with oil until crumbly texture
  • Carefully fill the above mixture into each baby onion
  • Heat remaining oil in a non stick pan
  • Place the stuffed onions on the surface of the pan, let it cook on low heat for 5~10min
  • Add about ¼ cup of water, add the remianing sufgfing mix
  • Close cook for about 10min
  • Sauté occassionally if required in between
  • Garnish with coriander leaves
  • Serve hot
